Welcome to Find a Treat – we’re thrilled to have you on board!
This guide is here to help you get set up and make the most of your listing. Whether you’re an ice cream van, food van, or local treat provider, these steps will make sure nearby treat-seekers can find you easily.
🚚 Turn Your Location On
When you’re out and about, turn your location ON and open the app. This lets the app show your location to users nearby, so they can discover you in real time.
✅ Keep the app open while you’re moving or parked to stay visible on the map.
✅ If you travel to a new area, toggle your location OFF and ON again to refresh your position.
📍 Why This Matters
Find a Treat only tracks your location while the app is open. This is due to privacy restrictions, which prevent tracking when the app is closed or running in the background.
We’re working on a future update that may allow optional background tracking, but for now:
- Keep the app open when active
- Refresh your location manually when needed
🧭 On the Move? Your Icon Will Update
When you’re travelling and the app is open, your icon on the map will change to a moving symbol, this lets users know you’re on the go and not currently parked.
If you stop somewhere but close the app, your icon will stay as “moving” because the app can’t confirm you’ve stopped.
To switch back to the regular icon (showing you’re ready to serve), just open the app again, it’ll update your status and show your correct location.
✅ Tip: If you’ve arrived at a new spot and your icon still shows as moving, just open the app and make sure your location is turned on, that’ll sort it.

Your profile helps people recognise you on the map, so make it count!
Here are a few ways to stand out:
- Include a photo of your van
- Encourage happy customers to leave a review through the app
- Let your regulars know you’re now on Find a Treat so they can follow you wherever you go
